Interior Trims, CF 3M Wrapped

I decided to change the interior trims of my Z4. I have an AW on Color Red with brushed Aluminum in Trims.
I went for a mixture of brushed Aluminum / CF 3M wrap.
I am still debating between the mix Brushed Al & CF or to go all the way CF wrap.

Let me know guys what you think, thanks!

looks really good. You need to have a DIY wright-up. I would be interested in such a swap but with black leather and stock 35is silver brushed trim I dont thing it will look as it does with red seats.

oh and leave the ashtray brushed. The contrast is very nice. Basically leave it like the last picture.

Wow, I hate almost every mod I have seen on this forum. I tend to think that if the designers at BMW didn't execute it that way, then an owner probably won't know better.

That being said, this is beautiful! I think BMW should take note and offer this as a trim option. Although I would go ahead and wrap the ashtray as well. Nice job, congrats!

I like it... I think I prefer the ash tray cover in carbon as well though, just my personal choice. But yeah, looks good. Makes the silver ac/air controls look great.

If possible, leave the center finger ridge on the ashtray unwrapped to preserve a silver accent. That plus the silver around the shifter, parking brake and the idrive controller are all enough to give it contrast.

I will write a DIY this weekend, level of difficulty is moderate. Needs patience...if you have that, it should not be a difficult job...
I agree, I am not sure if I would have done that mod on a black leather. The interior would look too dark, in my opinion..

This looks great! Was the removal easy?
I want to polish some minor scratches and swirls out of my high gloss trim, is there a DIY how to remove the trim?

The removal is not difficult, you just need to be prudent and patient so not to break the clips.
I used the below tool. Opened the centre console where the (useless cup holders are). Inserted the tool between the black plastic cover and the Al trim. The tool fit just enough, so you need something thin but strong. Pull up gently but firmly. It will clip up and the rest I used my fingers to Pull up. Make sure you don't pull up too much as you have wires connected to the e-break, iDrive knob, normal/sport/sport+, open/close/PDC buttons and the cigarettes lighter...
The difficult trim to pull out is the A/C trim. Spent a good 30 minutes pulling without breaking the so fragile clips. Accesses the first clip from the top left, to the top right of the start/stop button. Once clipped, the remaining used my fingers...

I would put the badge on the steering wheel back to normal. Mods really reveal themselves as mods when you mess with the brand. BMW would never alter their logo under any circumstances. This fact, while often not in the onlookers immediate consciousness, sets off a suspicion that something is off or just feels cheap.

I'm only sharing these knit-picky thoughts because I really like what you've done.

Amazing how the trim wrap completely changes the character of the interior
