BMW Cracked Wheel Bench

I had a couple cracked wheels lying around and was thinking of a way to put them to good use.

We have all seen Rolf-Dieter's innovative hose reel.

I thought a bench by the pool would be nice.

It even has complementary matching cracks on the bench top.

Probably my fault.

Also, I just read that there may be some hope on the cracked wheel front. A class action on the Z4 wheels was filed in CA just recently.

There was another class action settlement proposed a few years ago on the 6 series. It looks like BMW agreed to pay for new wheels and 1/2 the cost of the tires. I do not know if labor was included.

Put a slab of glass on top - instant coffee table. People have done this with wheels and other parts (old engines).

Or just recycle them

I plan on keeping the bench for a while, although I am open to offers.

The planks are held together with electrical wire that runs through holes drilled in the boards. It sits on top just fine. No further attachment is required.

The back wheels are tied together with a rope. I then have a single twelve inch 3/8 bolt and nut holding each front wheel to each back wheel. It ends up being pretty snug.

Its a little tall, but works for our family so far.

I love all of these luxury living options. Before we know it , BMW will be putting an M badge on these and selling High performance coffee tables.
