Z in the shop for 3+ days... spending time with an F10
parts weren't available to complete the EPS recall so my Z has been held at the dealer for 3 days and counting Nothing like sunny 75F / no humidity weather to make me miss it! (I promise I will be more forgiving of your +500lb and weakling cooling system when you get back Zed... ) My loaner is an F10 528 (non sport, premium + tech package) and it is positively a BOAT! I feel like a late 60s Florida retiree |

Recalls suck At least it's free
Also, wasn't aware that there's an EPS recall? I thought it was just the battery cable On a more important note, I will gladly trade you for your F10. My Z is in for work, and I was promised a F30. Ended up getting a F25 X3. How is that for a boat Day 5 and counting... At least it's raining here so I'm not missing too much California sun that we don't get here in the East. I agree though. Have wanted more power for the Z, and as peppy as an X3 is for a SUV (I'm sorry, SAV), it really makes you appreciate the Z that much more. |

5 days.. what's going on with your car?
I got letters for both EPS and battery cable but when the service dept checked my VIN my car was only affected by EPS and not battery cable. |

It is as exciting to drive as the Z4 35i, IMHO
I've never seen a 35i car go out as a loaner though... BTW, are you an additional driver on the loaner contract? Would be bad juju if you get into an accident and aren't on there... |

Got the update today... Z not ready for another day or two...
@fisherman have we just proven the wisdom in that car marketing adage... you can sell a young man's car to an old man but young men won't buy an old man's car (didn't mean to imply you are an "old man" just citing the adage....) EDIT: I think I'm 32 going on 63 because I'm actually OK with not having the Z just yet |

keepittrill - If your Mom picked up the car and you weren't allowed too, most likely means they thought they were loaning the car out to your Mom. If you get a ticket, or more importantly an accident, I think you will have some serious trouble (similar to driving a rental car without you on the "Additional Drivers" as Nick pointed out)
iTuning - The Lemon Law actually does apply to used or CPO vehicles (if your vehicle is one of those) contrary to what keepittrill said. Though state laws do differ on exact year and mileage, Lemon Laws apply regardless. Only time it doesn't is if prior to purchase, the dealer disclose that it is a Lemon car and you signed a waiver saying you were aware, then you are out of luck. In regards to the vehicle being in the shop for a month, again depending on the state, you may or may not actually could have had a Lemon law case. Not sure what was done, but the wait period doesn't include out of stock parts that have to be ordered. But since you got your car and seem to be happy with the repairs, then all that I've said is null Nick - Finally got my car back! Took a 3 hour cruise + picture session today with her Went in for oil change, alignment, and battery recall. I guess what took so long was that they were trying to chase down the roof rattle, Navi rattle, and the problem with the HCAV turning itself on. HVAC and Roof is fixed, but Navi still rattles, unfortunately. Hope you get your car back soon, but, it seems like you are in no rush anyway . |

Like Cedar said, lemon laws vary from state to state. The reason why it's difficult to lemon a CPO is that the car may be too old or too many miles. In New York, the car has to be less than 24 months and 18K miles.

keepitrill make sure you have insurance coverage on your loaner car! Cedar congrats on getting your car back. I'm ready for the Z again. I tried to merge quickly into traffic and got a nice reminder that 3500lb/300hp is better than 4000lb/240hp |
