saw another one!

This morning, stopped behind another Z4 at a traffic light! Turned into a 4 lane road that allowed us to drive side by side. Slowly passed him and gave him a thumbs up, he acknowledged it with a big grin.

I was so excited to finally see another Z4 on the street, I almost drifted into his lane ... would have been funny for onlookers, not so much for us

We drove the same way for may 7 miles or so. I am so proud of myself (well, really both of us) -- we didn't race even though we had the opportunity once or twice!

It's weird how rare the Z4 is. I see a Gemballa Porsche, a GT3, a 458 Italia, a smattering of Gallardos and Murcis almost daily, but I've never seen an E89. Hell, I've seen more Caymans than E89s.

I just noticed you are from Chicago. When I lived there I felt like there weren't that many German cars in general. Here in CA I think I see more 3 series than Camry... Z4 is not rare here at all. I see one every week or so

Nothing's rare in Cali. With a trillion people, there has to be automotive diversity for daaaaaays. Seems like every other car is a Tesla.

Not so rare in Europe and especially in Switzerland.. two in my town, and 2 others in the next town.

But I have to admit that in US, it must be rare. I have been in New York last month and nothing in the street or on highway; mostly only crappy toyotas and nissans

Here in Slovenia Z4 is quite rare. In whole country (which is 2 milion residents and 1 milion cars) there is only 55 registered Z4 (model E89). I see Z4 on the road every 2 weeks or so.

I see an identical Orion Silver parked in the same spot most days - and usually, that's about it....maybe one other.

We're insulated in Melbourne!

There are quite a few BMW's here in the southwest suburbs. Mostly 3 and 5 series. There are 'only' 3 dealers within 20 to 30 minute driving distance, so I am sure that has something to do with it.

Top was up... Bit chilly in the morning.

But yes, I had never seen the car from behind while driving... So that's what the blinkers look like in operation

Have another one 9 houses down.

Of course - one of the largest BMW dealers in the world is only a few miles away (Classic BMW - Plano (Dallas))

Just saw my 2nd E89 since Oct 2012, 50 miles from my home. I did see a 1st generation Z4 a few miles from home this weekend.

I just saw a red brand new is with paper plates pulling into my neighborhood. I was going the other way, but I slowed down long enough to take a look at the side badge to make sure. Wow.. first one I've seen besides mine.
