are you pushing the trunk open button or just the unlock button?

You need to press and hold for about 2 seconds, not just press and release immediately

Nah tried all those.
Got the same on wife's 3series which works fine. It's either a fault or a setting

I think you can block the boot from opening under certain circumstances (like if the rest of the car is locked). Its a setting on the iDrive in the 'settings' area but you'll need to read your manual if you don't have iDrive as I don't know the setting on non iDrive (stalk menu) cars.

Does it open when you press the Roundel on the trunk (boot), but not the remote? Or just does not open at all?

Doesn't open at all
But I may be confused I thought the whole point was it unlocked on its own WHEN the rest of the car is locked?

There is a setting to control that. It will operate independently or stay locked dependent on the setting.

Does that also include the remote button above the hood release latch? If so, it sounds like you might need to take it in to the dealer.

I've found that both doors have to be unlocked for the roundel to open the trunk.

If holding the trunk button on the remote for a few seconds doesn't open it or the button next to your foot near the hood release doesn't open it then its a fault / trip to dealer.

Have you at any time used the key in the boot lock at there is a dead lock if the key is turned to far?????

so whats the point of the button on the remote?
is it only used with comfort access?
when both doors are unlocked then i can use the trunk badge release but maybe i am missing something on my Boxster when everything was locked i could press said button and the trunk would open allowing me to put stuff in and then walk away

My trunk rounded works regardless of whether the doors are locked or not. Whenever I try using the key fob I end up setting off the alarm.

I've had a similar experience a couple of times. The first time I just had to unlock the car and try again.
The last time was when I last had the car dyno'd

I couldn't get the boot open no matter what. The roof was down, and the car was locked. I had to put the roof up and unlock the car before it would let me open it.
Some weird fault, but it hasn't happened since.
BTW achieved 300hp at the wheels with a stock 35is.
