Need Help - transmission issues

Hey folks, I have an issue with my transmission that I need your help with. I would take it to the shop but I'm out of warranty now and feel comfortable fixing it myself if I knew what part to replace. Here is my issue.

A month or so ago when I move the gear shift left to activate maual shifting when I pull the gear shift backwards it would upshift to the next gear. That stopped working. It would go into S1 and it would still allow me to down shift to a lower gear but it would not upshift manually. The paddles would still allow it to manually be upshifted so it doesn't seem like a problem with the actual transmission.

today when I went to the store I pulled the gear shift left and it would not activate S1 or upshift gears. It will still down shift manually just fine. The gear selector still selects the correct gear when I move from P to R to N to D and automatically goes in the correct gear with no issues. The only issue is the manual upshifting and shifting to s1.

I assume these are controlled via a switch somewhere under the console.

1. Does anyone know where this switch/sensor is located?
2. Does anyone know the part number(s)?

I am extremely confident I can replace them as long as I don't have to pull the transmission etc. I just need to know where they are and what they are.
