Dyno day with E89 Z4 35is FBO + Inlets

So I had a chance to take the car to the dyno twice to test pre/ post inlets on a FBO car.

Surprisingly we didn't see much of a gain with inlets, but we think the Cobb drop-in filter is the major restriction. This is definitely keeping us back, and prohibiting the full potential.

Good news is there is a DCI setup and MMP outlets on the way...

Take a look below for some pics, and both dyno charts.

Side note, for the first dyno I just uploaded the map after a dealer visit. I didn't get a chance to do WOT pulls to let the dme get adjusted to the new map so it may have affected the results.

Anyways I hope this helps guys looking to go FBO + inlets.

Special thanks to Buraq for a great tune, and being patient with my many, many questions. Also special thanks to Mike@n54Tuning, and Jeff@TopgearSoltuons for helping get the parts.

Here is a video for ya...

here are the logs, the 1st 3 are done in Sport + mode.

That was on 93 pump, winter blend. New intake and outlets should be shipping any day now. Both should help the whole system work better.

odd question but what are those horizontal silver fins on your lower front left/right grill. I see some Z's have them but many don't. Was this standard during 2014 LCI or aftermarket?

These came with both prelci and lci "is". I had both versions and you can see both had the silver fins.

I noticed you signature says 35is. It should have the silver fins, and the side view mirrors. It's the only way to tell the different between "is" and regular Msport package.

I guess having a white car it really doesnt stick out as much as it does on yours.

I guess you're right. Personally like the extra details, but I've seen mixed reactions. Some guys remove them, while others color pop these along with the side markers.
