My 2010 e89 can open while driving

is that normal? I thought it was only when we were stationary..but on a whim decided to put my top down and up while exiting parking lot and it could do it.

??? did i misunderstand something? or did the previous owner get some code done. I don't think i have smart top because i cant do the 3 second thing.

Its not a UK thing. I had my 2011 taken to the dealership for a cracked wheel and tire and they said there is a computer update out now that keeps it from opening at 25 MPH because it damages the mechanisms in the top. The new speed is somewhere between 5-10MPH. I had them go ahead and do the update as I've had an SLK before and when the hardtop is misaligned it is EXPENSIVE to be realigned. I'd rather avoid the problem altogether.

Yep, the latest software lowers the speed considerably. I used to be able to open or close the top while rolling slowly through a parking lot but not anymore. Since the software update a few weeks ago, I can't be moving at all to start the sequence and it stops and beeps if I hardley move while it is in sequence. I would say it's slower than 5mph now.
