Garage. Hoping one of the 60-foot trees around my house don't fall on it - or us.
Memphis1 must be freaking out, he lives much closer to the shore than me - I'm 15 miles inland.

Ha! I'll be on a plane to Miami on Thursday if this doesn't turn into a huge disaster.

Z4 is securely in the garage, with my BBQ grill in there for extra protection. The only reason the grill gets garage privileges is that we'll probably be cooking on it if we lose power for days...

Conveniently, Im off all of next week. Im supposed to be taking the cpa exam on wednesday but who knows if the test site will have power! Plus I cant fit 2 pomeranians and all my shoes in the z4. Im not really that worried but i dont want to be forced to evacuate. Im thinking of leaving my car in an indoor garage somewhere, at least itll be safe.

Live in Raeigh NC, No garage access either...They are just telling us to park as far away from any trees or lamp/electrical post's as possible. I know it might be tougher for you city dwellers to find a spot.
They say that buildings and homes should be fine in our area. We are 150 miles or so from Moorehead city where it should hit land. Anyone in a direct path should fill up your bath tubs/ fill your propaine tanks/ and get some food packed away!! Also as common knowledge should have it...Stay more toward the inner core of your home or building away from windows. Good luck people lets hope for the best for our families and our Z's |

Good luck everyone and stay safe. I'm well inland from this one but Charlotte got hammered by Hugo many years ago even though its 250 miles inland. My power was out for a week and trees were down everywhere. Finding gas or open businesses were near impossible for days. Our hospital was fine and I foolishly drove thru 40-50 mph winds and flooded roads going into work.

Stoof, don't be silly. The bridges aren't closed YET. I'm in zone A as well. Our house is almost fully boarded up. All the hotels are sold out. I managed to get the last room @ the sheraton right over the bridge in Edison NJ. U have til 5pm tomorrow to get out but I wouldnt wait. We re going to cross the bridge early as to not have any issues. Its going to be mayhem tomorrow. This is srsly so depressing.
