2010 sales incentives

I was at the dealer yesterday inquiring about incentives on a new 2010 Z4. They said they had a $1500 incentive which has now expired and was not renewed. They mentioned the possibility of a $5000 incentive coming out.

A previous poster refers to a $5000 incentive. Was this incentive only on the '09s? One guy on another board bought a new '09 for $10000 off sticker.

Has anyone been able to figure out what if anything is available on the 2010?

I tried to trade my 2009 Z4 35i last weekend and they offered me $36,000 for it. It was $59,000 6 months ago. The sales manager said that BMW has a $5,000 incentive to the dealers for 2010 Z4's and that is why my car is worth less to them. Not sure if they are passing it on to the buyers.

Not sure about the incentives, but the new lease terms for a 2010 35i are far from favorable, which kind if surprises me (soon to be 1 year old model, very cold winter, etc.) Lease rates were WAY better last summer/fall. On the other hand, the high money factor would suggest they're planning large incentives on the 2010's.

I caught your thread about trading in your 2009 Z4. As the 2010 car I ordered back in November is now nearing completion from a production standpoint, I have to think that I need to renegotiate the deal I made. I was getting the $1,500 through BMW financing, but I have to think that the $5k dealer incentive is separate and negotiable.

If I can get another $3k-$4k plus off the MSRP of I negotiated originally, that would bring the sale price to less than $59k. I may be in for a battle.

I think that once they realize you are aware of the incentive they will work with you. Good luck with your Z4.

Captain, please let us know what happens and what you find out. I'll do the same. Knowledge is power, the dealers have it and we don't. The dealer wants to keep us in the dark - a board like this is our only hope.

Regardless of how ridiculously early BMW plans to release the 2011 model, we are 8 days into 2010, so 2010 is the new model year, and will be for a while, so if there are any lease incentives, they would be on the half year old 2009's only. That is generally how the Mfgs work it.

Just spoke with my dealer. He is adamant that the $5000 incentive is for 2009 Z4s and that the 2011 Z4s won't be out till the next model year in Fall.

My "sources" have failed me. I need hard proof of the incentive plan. Anyone have documentation to offer? Is it just the Z4 35is that will be a 2011 model in March??

My dealer confirmed that the $5K incentive is only on the 09 models. The Holiday Cash, $1500, expired on 1/4/10. If sales stay slow they may initiate something to encourage buyers or you can do what I am doing, an ED saving about $8K off US MSRP plus I am getting the Holiday Cash. This amounts to almost a 13% savings.
