dct maintenance

Just curious if the dct 7 speed requires anything like a clutch type replacement or is it pretty much expected to follow a maintenance schedule similar to an automatic?

surely it will need new clutches as some point - more like a true manual I would imagine

Since the double clutch is using each clutch half the time your clutches should last twice as long. And the computer will take good care of your clutch temp and prevent abuse, so enjoy.

I'm hoping to get at least 150K miles before having to invest in new clutches. I don't even want to think about what it will cost.

Thanks for the replies. I was just curious of the DCT as I own a 6MT and my next bmw I was possibly planning to get a DCT. If I stay with BMW that is but so far a good experience.
