MTec now has some high power LED's that I suspect will rival these. I put them on mine today and they are really nice. I had the 4000K Mtec bulbs which are better than stock, but not by much. The hi power ones are 6W, 7000K with Cree LEDs. Mentioned above in this thread. I posted a pic in another thread just now.
(sorry, didn't read the whole thread....rival in appearance, but not cost...mine were $224). Last edited by rchaas; 04-07-2012 at 05:23 PM.. |

I disagree Gunzaro. I did a side by side test also during the day and night with one other person present and we both agreed that at least on my car the MTECH halogens were brighter during the day. There are 2 MTECH bulbs available. I got the lower temperature bulb that was brighter and whiter instead of the higher temp bulb that is more blue but not as bright and that could explain the difference.

I tried these out, but I was not impressed with the output. Pics are taken not even completely in direct sunlight. I am also selling mine if anyone is interested:

What were you not impressed with? Light output? Brightness? Dimming? Inner halo being much brighter? It looks pretty good in your pics but not as good or even as LUX from the other pics I've seen.

I prefer LUX. LUX are a much brighter in sunlight and looks a bit more even between the rings from far away. The Burger Time brand are a bit more dim in sunlight and the inner halos are much brighter than the outer from far away.
LUX Good:

flpnout, didn't you dump your LUX? I thought you had some probs with them.

LUX has great customer service. I returned them and they issued a full refund. It turned out it was a connector issue that I could have probably resolved. I believe Vintage had similar issue and he fixed it himself. In any case, after trying burger time, I decided to repurchase LUX.
