if we are talking 200 - 300 mileage on the clock brand new , then if you want to screw your engine then of course you can go ahead.........The brakes will have not bedded in properly and neither will the discs!!! With brand new cars follow the manufacturers running in guidelines, if the brakes have been replaced because your car has done x thousands of miles then 200-300 miles will be good some say 500 for proper bedding in!

Let me be more specific , what happens to the engine that would miss it up? Cuz Before every engine is put in to a car they are tested at full capacity in BMW. So why the brake in period ?

I think this is a very controversial topic. I personally agree with the advice detailed on this website which is basically "warm it up, run it hard"

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I know of E90s that were on track at an HPDE with less miles on the odometer than what the OP is mentioning. Warm up the engine oil, use the recon lap to bed in the brakes and giddy up!

There are no risks as such but its better to drive your car gently for the first 1000-1500 kms, it might come from an old school of thought but it is 'just' 1500 kms. It's also better for your tires & brakes.

I do a soft break-in for all my cars. Even though engines are 'tested' at full capacity, they ask you to drive it gently too. Why wont they let you use launch control for the first 1500 kms..

As others pointed out if you like to abuse your engine go for it, your dealer will be able to tell what you did in case of warranty issues for it will be recorded on your onboard computer.

You sound like an immature, impatient kid at the candy counter!!! Can I peel out, can I rev the engine to the max, how can I use launch control, how can I keep my car in a straight line....... Jeez. Just go drive your car, enjoy it, and wait for that call from NASCAR to replace Junior!!!
