Nice looking vehicle.

That 35is Steering Wheel sure does looks puffy compared to the one on the 35i.

Thanks everyone, very kind of you all!

We had a lovely sunny weekend here and YES I had a GREAT time. Almost embarassed to have it on sports mode - that low level hum and rummble causes a lot of attraction. Naaaaahh! Just enjoyed every bit of it really!!
I was sensible although i had some folks wanting to race or even acting really stupid on the roads. Just ignored them.

Will be looking for winter wheels and tires soon. Not sure if it is a good idea to mount 19" winter tires on this rim or keep these as they are and go for 18". Like the 326 M style though.

The smaller the better, some use 17" wheels others 18" wheels. I was lucky I located a set of 4 M3 18"x8" wheels I will be using them for my winter set when I feel like taking her for a spin. I feel better knowing I have winter tires even thou I do not plan to drive in the snow. For true winter driving I use my Jag it is a X Drive AWD.

I always have a winter tire/wheel set. I don't believe in exposing alloy wheels to 2 tire changes each year. Besides it be cheeper in the long run, one can always sell the winter tire/wheel set once one sells the car.

I found my winter wheel set on the Internet, picked them up near where I live. Good luck in your hunt.

I have a set of OEM 17" style 276 running on Blizzak's lm25 for winter. I initially wanted to mount winters on my 296's but it was impossible to find winter tires in those dimensions so just went with the OEM winter set up.

Re:

Wow looks great

My iS has been delayed . Now expected next Tuesday.

I went for the 326's but I already have the 296's on the 23i.

I've been lucky so far with no cracks that I can see.

This issue made a slot on a consumer TV show here in the UK called Watchdog.

Here is the video http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/...oy_wheels.html

Yes, it looks like 17"s is what it's going to be.
Infact i just learnt that Z4 in Switz. has to be 17", which is what is legally allowed. If any other wheel sizes are used then it must be registered with the "car registration authorities"(I dont know what this is called in other countries!), they will have to review it and stamp it on your car registration papers so that if you are stopped at any police check, you don't get busted.

T89 you probably are already aware of this.

Andy, thanks for that post. Really interesting. I think I will be changing my tires when i revert back from winter sets to non-rft's. Will also check the status of my 296's to see if they are cracked or not.

Yep that's correct. Very strict here about mods done to cars. Have to stick with original dimensions.

Having said that, I haven't had any trouble with my aftermarket summer wheels yet. They are CSL reps so they look like OEMs. That's probably why.

However, I hear that as long as you have winter tires on during the winter, authorities don't really mind, no matter what size they are.

It's true about others wanting to race, mostly other Bmw owners. Gets a lot of attention as well, which is odd since there are nicer cars in Geneva. I get a lot of compliments from valets.

Yes... fully agree.

I have a desktop model on my desk, and even that brings people in to comment.
If I did not arrive at 6am before the crowds arrive (we share an underground carpark with 8 other companies in 4 towers - my spot is near the lifts) it would take an hour to get inside.
As it is I get one or two people a week who walk over and try to ask about it as I put the roof up for the day...

Noticed today that when you click the iDrive on the "split screen", you gets some pretty cool options to display in the small window.
