35is check engine light, recall...........
wondered if anyone else experienced this. Last Sun the engine symbol light in the dash came on and stayed on. Check control said all systems OK and I noticed no problems. Did this once before and dealer checked it out finding no problems so they reset it. (gas cap was tight!) Anyone had this issue?
Also when I dropped it off this morning they said there was a programming recall, I had not heard about that? |

Took delivery in May 2010. Got a call in to my service advisor to get some details, will post after I speak to him.

Have not heard about any recalls. Possibly the HPFP software update?

correct, the recall does have to do with the fuel pressure issue. in the 2011 models they are doing a software change just to make sure there are no issues. they had to order something to address why the check engine light keeps coming on, did not really get an explanation??/
hey Silver, didn't you switch out the RFTs? I am going to do the same in the spring. I was going to go 275 in the rear and 235 up front, would that work? Thanks |

1) I had the engine light come on once, and it went away after a few cycles (start/stop). Haven't seent it since, may be sub-par fuel? See if yours goes away after a few days.
2) Recall is HPFP-related as mentioned in previous posts. Got it too, not getting it done yet.

While there is no "recall" for software, there is a PUMA notice for early builds and new software available which BMW is only doing if problems arise. Mine is also one of the first built and was the dealers "show car" for the initial release.

2011 3.5 with a delivery date of July 2010. Light was on for multiple tanks of gas; dealer said to wait and see if it would go off. Took it to dealer, and he replaced a sensor? Work order doesn't give part detail. OK now.
