Also do these require any treatment before you can mount them with new pads or is it just straight up plug and play? I was thinking of doing rotors and Hawk pads to the front and rears, but didn't know if they would bed in on their own after awhile or whether they needed a pre-treatment. (Not sure I can justify the BMW Perf. brake kit on the Z4.)
The holes and slots won't rust because they are zinc coated. That is the point of the zinc, to prevent rusting. Same with the center bore. It is zinc coated, so will not rust like the OEMs (mine have already started to after 4,000 miles.... )

Thought I'd bump this thread. I'm getting ready to swap out the brake pads on the Z4 and thought I might as well nail the rotors at the same time.

Are these still the best option for an alternative to the OEM rotors? Any feedback after long-term use?

You bought the "regular" (i.e., not the premium) ones, correct? It's not clear from their website what the difference is between regular and premium rotors.

The website uses the term Premium to describe the rotors that are dimpled/slotted. I installed those on a neighbors' 323i, but I bought the drilled/slotted (regular?) for my Z4. Just their marketing/advert nomenclature. They answer phone questions in case I'm naive.

Now when they describe the premium vs standard brake pads, there is a performance difference which they address graphically.

Cool, thanks. I went with the same ones you did. I already have a set of Akebono Euro ceramics to install when they get here.
