Z4 replaced by Z8 and i8?





Will the full powered petrol engine be a Z8 and the innovative hybrid sports car be the i8?

BMW have registered the i1 til i8...

New BMW Concept Car [the i8], to be marketed as the i100 in 2013, powered by a 3 cylinder Turbo Diesel (rear mounted) with 2 Electric motors, Diesel motor produces 163 HP, Front electric motor produces 82HP and the Rear electric motor produces 34HP, for a total of 279 HP, fuel consumption is 62.5 mpg. Top speed is 250km/h, 0-60 times are 4.8 sec. Initial price is expected to be about Euro 150,000. Range on only electric power is 50km.

So here I am, having stated that I did not think BMW would ever do a rear engined car, posting links to a BMW rear engined car, but I am not sure if this fully counts in the traditional sense as a rear engined car as the wcar has 3 motors.
