Earlier ones had to have the Sport package (like mine) 2009. Found this out when looking into Dinan, required for the remap.

It seems that some or all 2009s without the Sport Package did NOT have the oil cooler, which is crazy based on BMW's painful experience with the 335s that did not have an oil cooler.

My BMW/Dinan guy physically went out and checked before he would let me order the remap so they weren't sure either

Off topic but... Are you satisfied with your Dinan reflash? I find it a little conservative.

I love my Dinan Stage II....everything about the car seems to be improved. I drove it for 10K before getting the remap due to the wait for the latest software revision and it felt like a different car after the fact. And it has the factory oil cooler, the temperatures seem well managed and I drove through Los Angeles (107 deg F) for a week , ran the canyons at full tilt, drove to Phoenix then Santa Fe then home , all in the desert heat and no issues with temperatures at all.
Notice how the oil cooler just slipped in there to keep on topic..
