Chassis stabilization malfunction?

Anybody seen this warning before? I've had it come on twice now. First time was when Discount Tire put the car up to re-balance my tires. After they put the car back on the ground an amber warning icon came on and the iDrive screen had above message. Second time was when I parked on a somewhat crooked parking space that lifted the left front of the car. Both times killing the engine and restarting the car got rid of the warning message. Car feels fine so I'm not worrying about it, just curious as to what might be the issue.

Yes. I had the same problem. I think they just reflashed my car, not hardware. Was disconcerting though.

Happened to me to. When I took it in, they said they see it in the logs, but were unable to reproduce it or determine the cause.

Hi! The yellow warning light is not a fault, it tells you that the angle of the car is not stable, why would this system matter??? well it is part of the detection/protection system if you just happen to roll the car over in an accident!!!! It tells the car to push up the Roll bars to protect the occupants should the car flip!!!! Operate the air bags etc.........
If you ever wondered how the car knows its going upside down ? now you know a little more!!

The error warns you that the car is way off level, so it is best to NOT move the top from its current position until you move the car to a level setting and clear the error by re-starting the car. The roll bars are fixed to the structure of the car and do not extend in the event of a roll over.

I received this error yesterday. Car was on a flat hard surface. I had just lowered the top. I stopped the engine and restarted and the warning went away. I am due for a service soon and will ask the dealer.

On several occasions, I get weird messages from the car that clearly don't make sense. restart the car and all is well (usually)

According to my manual those as part of the anti theft security system
This display will also be activated and disable
if the car has been (illegally) lifted/ tilted /towed.
The thief can tow the car BUT IT WILL BE DISABLED.
As we as the roll over indicator listed above .
Nice feature

I'd like to see the roll bars flip up GIVEN THEY ARE A FIXED PART OF THE CHASSIS INSIDE THE PLASTIC ROLL HOOPS... LOL

Chasis stabilisation is all about functions such as stability control (sliding the car under power) and so on, its got absolutely nothing to do with the roof or tilt of the car etc. The amount of guesswork that goes on here that's portrayed as fact makes me chuckle.

The issue is likely that an ABS sensor could not be read or was misread and then you get the error because without the ABS sensors the car cannot detect when its slipping etc and hence it turns those systems off and tells you. Its pretty common on all cars with stability systems these days.

I get this and other malfunction warnings whenever I flash the car using my Cobb AP. Everything clears when I re-start the car.
