Connected Drive
My car is stored for the winter, and while put away the Connected Drive account which enables the internet and other apps has expired.
Today I learned that BMW has eliminated any car older than 2013 from renewing a Connected Drive account. This is apparently a new thing, and eliminates a well received capability for my car. Anyone else have more info, or another possible solution? I don't expect it, but who knows! |

Seriously??
I have spent time today speaking to BMWUSA, the Dealer and several internet searches, and everything I found said "NO" more renewals for cars 2013 or older. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=891542 I am waiting with anticipation for your experience renewing the Connected Drive subscription! |

I believe that this is a particular national US carrier issue. Here in the EU (and CH), the carriers will most probably maintain the 2G standard at least until 2020 (see here: http://bit.ly/22lUYgl).

the 2g is being phased out, and those with pre-2013 BMWs are left behind I guess. Honestly, I am amazed that BMW has let this happen...it's a big deal. |
