I think we need 370z vs 135i Clarkson comparison. I remember 5th Gear did 135i vs Porsche Cayman back last year.

He really likes the Z4, but I wouldn't say that he's singing praises all over it. He said it was slower, less exciting, and more expensive than the Z in the end. Gotta admit, though, he didn't seem to spend a lot of time on the Z than he did with the Z4. In my opinion, I think a slightly better comparison might be the 135i vs the 370Z.
Why wouldn't there be dinosaurs? |

Keep an eye on the 370Z seat when they both drive it on both brown and white car. I would really hate to drive a car that hard when the seat feels like its going to fall off. Nissan is nice but it's still a Japanese car...period.

Why would they compare a convertible with a coupe? Of course the 370Z will be cheaper and faster but it is also way harsher unless u spend your whole motoring life at the track and that being the case, I will have buy a Cayman S.
This new Z4 will beat the current SLK in all areas, that to me is a fair and better comparison. Anyway a Nissan GTR will beat the 911 Turbo and is also cheaper but I will buy the 997 Turbo anytime if I can afford it, period! |

This is my first post, so hello to everybody, yesterday I just ordered the new z4 35i white, with the 313 performance wheels, and performance black grill.
I really think the new z4 is a great looking car, and perfect for day to day basis, I really don't think when they made the car they were looking for customers that went to circuits every week....and I think Jeremy got that straight away.... I use for day to day a day mi cayenne GTS or my merc ML, if I want to go the the track I would get my 997 carrera S, now I think I have bought one of the nicest cabrio cars there are. Thank you for welcoming me. |

Their positions on the "Top Gear Board of Times" I thought were noteworthy . . . right above the EVO and the STi. I know its just another bunch of times but I still thought it was
"If somebody told me, 'You have to have one of these for the rest of your life,' I'd be delighted." Nice.

Z4 NOT Slower than 370Z
I test drove a 370Z Coupe before deciding on the Z4. The whole time I test drove it I kept wondering..."Where's the TORQUE???!!! The car just did not seem quick.
Nothing against the 370Z, very nice car, but.....the 370Z is most definitely between .3 - .5 seconds slower 0-60 than the sDrive 35i, as documented. The 370Z Roadster will be about 200 lbs heavier than the coupe, so will be over a half second slower than the Z4 to 60 mph, dsepite the 32 HP advantage. |
