Mr Breeze may be able to commiserate with you there... But at least he only has two days to go. Oh, and the reference to "overtaking animals" I found mildly amusing. Very Romanian. Perhaps even Roman.

He started losing credibility when he thought he's driving a 3.5 liter. Also, how can he not be able to read the dials? Guy must be semi-blind. 2/5...wow....

I like this one as well, but probably because it reviews a Ferrari California...

Jeez, another this ain't a Boxster article!! Unless you are on the track who gives a rip if the Boxster handles better! In the real world the Z4is looks better, handles way better than most will ever need, great engine and sound and is just a blast to drive. If I really need perhaps a few more hundredths g's of grip I will go back to the M3!

2/ I don't get any booming at 2500-3000 revs. 3/ No tramlining whatsoever on 19" wheel's 4/ Do agree the car accelerates violently, (It should do) Don't think this guy likes BM's

I totally agree with what has been said above. I feel there is too much disparity in the reviews for them to be accurate.
I remember nearly all the reviews of the twin-turbo 135i were overwhelmingly positive. Almost unbelievably so. If you were totally naive about cars, read them and compared it to the Z4 reviews you would conclude the 135i is a far superior car! When I finally got to drive the 135i (and own one) I immediately realised that the reviews were, shall I say, a bit too positive... |

It's a very valid question Tranquility.
The 135i is a solid performer no doubt. However what lets it down in my opinion is its handling. It exhibits quite a bit of body roll. I havent driven a 35is yet but from the videos I have seen it would have less than the 135i. Also the steering does feel a little vague too. If you made a few suspension mods + tires the 135i would be vastly improved. In a straight line a DCT 35i would be quicker. I had a manual and can safely say that. The BMW manual shifter on the 135i is actually quite pleasing to use; smooth, fast and precise. Brakes are fantastic on the 135i. Boot space and comfort are good. Had a few creaks and a tailight go out, but nothing major. For the price the 135i is great value, esp in Australia where they are around $75k on the road new with a bit of bargaining. (In comparison you can get a Z4 35is for around $130k on the road). So that is around $50k more for the Z4! So this is one major reason why the 135i is sooo popular: it is a relatively cheap entry to BMW with the blooming amazing powerhouse of a N54 engine! With a tune like the JB3 you have a very economical way of blowing away most cars on the road in comfort and style at the traffic lights. The reason why I decided to change was my need for something sportier that was a 2-seater convertible but also comfortable for longer journeys. The 135i just didnt feel sporty enough to keep me engaged whilst driving it. (I have had a bit of a small history with sports cars). Although it is a nice, how can I say, sporty cruiser.
