well, since summer in norway does not last long, better have it early
am a little concern by z23 engine, it is as heavy as e92 325i, less torque, consumption by far higher (3l in the city), pollutes more... hope wont be too linear in such a heavy car... was rather disapointed by 325i, so z30 might actullay be a better choice... well , we still have time to change anyway. |

Hmm, I put an order down on the 24th Jan but have not received a confirmed build date. Whilst I've been told that I'm going to be one of the first to receive the new Z4 I just noticed that, on my vehicle contract, it has the 1st June as an estimated delivery date.
For those that have put an order down, what estimated delivery date do you have on your contract? I was under the impression that I'd be receiving it around the beginning of May... |

The sales guy could certainly tick all the boxes on the computer and put the spec together with all the prices, but said the actual factory ordering system wasn't available yet. I think (someone please correct if wrong), but the factory ordering system is an old basic text based interface. They know my spec anyway!
Have you been given a delivery date? They thought it wouldn't be possible to get it before launch date (9th May) and they actually have "11th May (estimated)" on the order form. Can't wait!

Just had an update from my local UK dealer about my Z4 order. They've recently received an email direct from BMW which basically states that orders will be allocated a build date at the beginning of April and that production will start the first week of May (on a first come first served basis).
Not too sure how long these vehicles will take to be built or how long they will take to be shipped from German to the UK. Any ideas based on past experiences? Anyhow, it's getting closer, guys. |

Surely they must start building them before the 1st week in May, in order to have them ready for the 9th...

Just been told by the local dealer that my Z4 has been allocated build week 19 (first week of May). Sweet!
Does anyone know how long it typically takes for a car to arrive from the German factory to the UK? |

I think delivery to the UK, tax, registration and PDI is typically around 2 weeks.
