Help - need iS front bumper
Bad news = my wife tapped the rear of a truck today with the e89 and punched a hole in the grill/bumper (no damage to truck). Good news = no one was hurt, but the e89, and I have really wanted the iS front bumper. I think it is awesome/aggressive looking and the only part I never absolutely loved on this e89 is the stock front clip. So, opportunity knocks.
I need help because I cannot find the threads on this forum regarding iS bumper parts ordering. I know I have read them as to the Msport/iS bumper, so sorry. Flpnout - I know you have the Msport bumper and it looks great. Can anyone recommend a parts dealer with discounts that will know all of the parts I need - I would like to order ASAP. Thanks for your time and help. Last edited by Vintage; 04-19-2011 at 10:20 PM.. |

Bummer about the bumper. Here's a start. You'll have to piece things together as its a little spread out over a couple of pages of posts.
http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthre...+bumper&page=2 As far as the bumper itself I'd order it from your local dealer, if you're a BMWCCA member and they participate you'll get 10% off. Otherwise you take the chance of shipping damage, blah, blah, blah. The small stuff you can get mail order from Tischer, ECS, BavAuto, etc. See OEM parts or Penske parts for cost http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do...0100800&arch=0 http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsM...8&rnd=03192010

Hi VintageBMW, I recommend you get best price with these guys. I have ordered stuff from them and seem to be the cheapest. They are a Tischer BMW in Maryland, but they use this website to sell parts cheap. I usually deal with Jason Rihgard: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0
You basically just need the main bumper and 3 lower grill pieces. You can decide if you want the one with the Gray trim piece on the left and right or without. I went without. You will need Part # 1, 7, 8 or 9 (left and right) from the picture. Hope this helps! Good luck and sorry to hear about your wife's incident. Glad it was minor.

In case you want to replace your orange side reflectors which I should have done, it will be easier if you order painted ones and have them put on when you get the bumper installed. I regret not getting them, but here is a place that sells painted reflectors a bit cheaper compared to others that sell them for $99. Or you could just have the reflectors painted when you get your new bumper painted. http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/Z-Se...duct_info.html

Parts are all on order from Tischer as recommended. They should arrive late next week and then off to the painter. Once installed I will post the pictures.

Tischer is good shop but not the cheapest for sure.
Go to bmwmercedesparts.com. I got bumpers from them and their price absolutely beats everyone. They are also authorized dealership in NE.

Don't you have to give up fog lights to move to the iS bumper? I was told my car didn't have foglights because the cooling ducts for the front brakes go where foglights would normally be.

Interesting. Just goes to show how much my salesdrone knows (or doesn't).

Theres an aftermarket option for LED strips on the lower ducts that you can order your car with from the official BMW Performance catalogue but are indicated as daytime running lights and not Fog Lights. Photo below:
