Its just some people really like high tech and what it can achieve. Doesn't make you (or them) wrong though.

THanks Richard - Yeah I do notice a better action of the paddles if you press at their lowest point, not perfect but better than the looseness you see pressing high on the paddle. Pity that I was taught about 10 & 2, not 9 & 3. Old habits die hard...

I can only add I loved my SMG on my M3 (2002) now I love my DCT even more. I just wish my M3 shifters were on my Z4 steering wheel

I will get used to the Z4 shifters as time passes

didnt like them at first, now I actually prefer them the way they are.
