"USB in glove box"
Can't find it. Have the 6-disc changer from the factory. Have been playing around with music sources and at certain steps get screen messages on iDrive telling me to use the USB in glove box even when I have thumbdrive plugged into iPod USB in center console.
What gives? Where is it in the glovebox? |

I know, you have to be a contortionist to get it in there and seated.

Get a short USB extension cable. On line they're only a couple of bucks and you can coil the extra length depending on which one you get. Plug the male end of the extension cable into the USB, then plug your flash drive into the other end of the cable. You can get them in black, too.
http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CDAQ8gIwAw# I even thought of getting one several feet long to reach from the glove box, hidden behind the dash, under the console and come out in the console in that space under the arm rest. Then you wouldn't have to use it in the glove box at all. Take a little work, but it's an idea, and it's what BMW should have done in the first place.
