is it just me or the front 3/4 view just doesn't work on the new Zed, especially with that bumper? it's a bit too much of X5 in there for me if im honest...
rear end looks great though!

i totally agree ... also like the different carbon style aluminium trim. cannot believe they did not give this new model some bmw performance parts though such as brake kit at least !

two points here. One, awesome styling upgrade. That front bumper is sweet. Two. This thing will cost more than an M3. I would have liked to seen a upgrade to maybe 360-370 hp for that kind of money.

What a dissapointment.
1. No Manual option 2. Lackluster performance boost 3. No brake upgrade - should xdrilled discs+6 pistons 4. Horrible aluminium trim - reminds me of stock 135i trim 5. Wheels look cheap and should be 19inch 6. Silly side mirrors 7. Price premium??? What I do like is the new exhaust system (heard it testing at nurburgring) and tightened steering response. But unfortunately for me the negatives outweigh the positives. Bring on the N55 versions... |

with the overboost function BMW is claiming 369 lbs torque and 0.4 seconds faster than current 35i. I think that is a respectable increase. this is not a Z4M, with that said I think this new model is perfect.

I'm going to stick my neck out and guess it's the TT. The single turbo n55 torque begins around 1200 RPM and they said this one begins around 1500 RPM, which is characteristic of the n54 engine. Just a guess for FWIW.
I'm not to crazy about the mirror caps, but do welcome some additional ext/int colors. |

The point is in stock form the 35is is better. It doesn't need a JB3 to beat you. I'm not saying your regular 35i is a bad car; in fact it is already a very fast car. Just love what you have, there is no point in thinking you could chip your car so you could beat the range topping model.

I think the new styling changes looks great overall and the front is very reminisent of the E86 and E85 ///M's ! However the wheels are the worst feature and need something distinctive for the M sport model. Also there is no mention of a limited slip diff for that 369 lbft of torque and I have to wonder where the price of this car will fall.
Im sorry but If i was in the market for a more serious roadster I would be looking across town at the new Porsche Boxster Spyder. 176lb lighter than standard with 320 N/A ponies, dual clutch and a STANDARD limited slip diff make it a no brainer for me. |

Sharp looking car - I like everything except the busy hood with lines going all over the place. What's with the stupid reflectors in the bumper (probably some US spec safety thing)? Z4 fans should like this car; the pricetag is going to suck though. Nice overall! And it's TWIN turbo as someone else pointed out - presumably the tried and true N54 (save the HPFP comments for another thread, please) .Nick |

I'm wondering if some of these style features will carry over to the actual cars on the lot.
Notice the speedometer w/ the 35is and on the floor mats. Also, the ///M on the sill plate and steering wheel. There's also a different carbon fiber/aluminum trim on the dash and the console. Last edited by teagueAMX; 12-12-2009 at 08:49 PM. |
