I decided to edit this post and a similar one on another forum for two reasons. (1) As subsequently noted in this thread, the needed CARB approval for the 2010 Z4 s35i has been provided and deliveries of the car are no longer being held by BMW pending that approval. (2) CARB has responded to my complaints about the matter and is investigating whether they contributed to the delay.
It will be interesting to see if I’ll learn whether the cause of the problem was initially misrepresented or misstated to me by CARB staff and if BMW actually caused or contributed in some manner to the significant and extremely aggravating situation that was encountered. The bottom line remains that this sort of thing shouldn’t happen and if mistakes are made they should be expeditiously resolved so that individual consumers are minimally affected and there’s damage control in terms of adverse economic impact. Wow!! That sucks on the long hold up. Mine is scheduled to arrive at the Oxnard VPC on Friday 10/16. I guess mine will also be held for awhile. Really sucks for everyone!

Hooray! It's done! http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/...4r1_3d0_l2.pdf
It appears the revised Executive Order was actually executed on October 8, but the notification wasn't placed on their website until late today, October 12. Best regards, Ed |

I'm wondering if anyone from northern California know how long it takes once it reaches Oxnard VPC to reach bay area dealerships? My 2010 arrived at the dock in Oxnard on 10/16, up to now my dealership has not gotten the car yet? Don't know why it is taking so long? I thought it would be usually 3 days after docking that the car would be here?

I'd suggest that you get in touch with your dealership before this change over. http://www.bimmerfile.com/2009/09/28...ce-oxnard-vpc/ Quote:

Thanks for the link. That doesn't sound like I have happy employees working on my car. I'm going to call my sales rep this morning. When I track the vehicle in Owner's Circle it still shows enroute instead of at VPC. Strange....

Hopefully, your car isn't even there and this isn't a major issue, but just in case I would try to get it out of there before the new employee "learning curve" kicks in. Might delay things even further. |
