Question PSS tire recommedation size for 19s & Alignment

Can anyone provide me with the optimal tire size for 19inch rims for a 35is/35i and the best or correct alignment specs?

I am looking to get some Michelin PSS. What is the difference between the PSS and PSS2? Which is better?

What's your wheel size?
I'm running 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 on 19x9 and 19x10

Planning to go 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 on my next set

I got the standard 19 inch rims. 326M?

Just found out I cant get Michelin PSS to suit in Australia (according to their website).

I know Dr Stig used some Goodyear Asymetrical 2 - what size would fit? Could I got to a 265 or even a 275 on the rear with the standard rim width?

I have the 19" option wheels on my 35is. I got rid of run flats and have 235 35-19 of front and 275 30-19 in rear. No problems

PSS is the much improved replacement for the PS2 - not that the PS2 isn't a great tire

the tires are too thick. you will rub with that size. mainly turning because it will rub on the fender liners

What about stock 19'.can I put 235 /35/19 front and 265/30/19 at rear.
I am thinking michelin pilot super sport or continental sport contact 3.

From what I gather, you can go up to 245 on the front in 35 profile and up to 275 on rear in 30 profile on the stock 19 inch rims and offsets.

Just got the car back this afternoon. Fresh Michelin PSS 235/40-19 (F) & 265/35-19 (R) on the updated 296 design rear rims that were recently replaced via the BMW Tire & Wheel Insur due to cracks in both. Rides great as all the previous PSS uses already know. The tires are about 1" taller in OD than the stock 225/35 & 255/30 RFT's. Fills up the wheel well nicely with no rubbing issues. Two fingers space at top - perfect. Looks like a real tire on the rims in place of those darn rubber band looking RFT's - IMO.

I thought 40 series and 35 series tires were too tall ...stock is 35F/30R.

Too Tall wasn't that some Cowboy. You have to think outside of the box. What fun is it if we all do the same thing. Next time I would go for the 225/40 (F) purely for aesthetics - they are 0.3" smaller OD @ 26.1" (Stock 225/35's are 25.1" OD). The PSS 265/35's are 26.3" OD -vs- stock 255/30 @ 25.3".

The 245/40's (F) Michelin PSS have an OD @ 26.7" OD (sizes vary +/-0.2" from brand to brand) and that will rub on the inner plastc well as stated by Hoa. Do your homework, think, measure. All the data is available on the "Tire Rack" website.

If you want to play it safe and not do the work - buy the stock sizes.

I was driving...err..quite enthusiastically yesterday..and on Sports+ setting, the tires were rubbing a lot..i was doing a slight inclined turn...assume about 15-20 degrees..and the right rear was rubbing the whole time...as in permanent rub.

i think its 245/20..runnin PSS

I am really surprise that you ain't rubbing...but then again i dun really rub unless i am doing about 160-200km o and the gradual humps become more speed bumpish.

I do have to say that the looks are great

But, wouldn't changing the overall diameter require reprogramming/calibration, otherwise your speedometer would be off. Since you're diameter has increased, wouldn't you be going faster than indicated.

The difference is very insignificant. Do the math... Actually it would make the speedo more accurate since it is off by 3mph on our cars.

Thanks! Yes - on the faster than indicated, but my speedometer was always about 5 mph optomistic at 70+ mph versus the Garmin GPS. I'm not really that concerned as I try not to be the fastest out on the freeway. Completed the physical GPS calibration to the speedometer. Indicated lags by 1 mph from 70 - 100 mph versus GPS. At lower speeds, indicated is spot on with the GPS.

The ride is heavenly smooth (in Normal) and the grip is wonderful (no more understeer) compared to the harsh ride and understeer of the RFT's.
