296 Wheels cracked please notify NHTSA.GOV

Can the moderator makes this a sticky note until such a time that the issues gets resovled via recall?

If you have an issue with 296 rims cracking please file a complaint on the issue at the site listed.

Will all the people that i read about that have cracked 296 rims i am suprised that i have heard noone talk about reporting it to the government for recall review. If you have cracked 296 rims and are getting jerked around (or not) take 5 minutes and let the government know. If enough people do so then you might just warrant a recall on rims.

i hope this works out for all of you.

i am sure there is case law where following a common problem the manufacturer is responsible for all claims. selling an item that is not fit for purpose is not allowed.

it is obvious the issue comes in this category and it is not driver abuse
BMW should be ashamed for not issuing a recall. if it wasn't for the fact the tyres were runflats, in other words you don't get a blow-out and potential accident i am sure they would have been forced to do something about it
