I have a Garmin 2595 along with a Z4 35i and an SLK Merc. I must say that the Garmin works perfectly parked in the change tray in front of the shifter. No lost signal, top up or top down on both cars. Because it is so good at spoken directions I seldom have to look down and the few times I have to look down the view is unblocked, so it’s no big deal. I usually don’t use it for more than one battery charge but if needed the power cord for the most part is out of the way in the SLK whereas the Z4 is a little more problematic.
