I have a question about the air filter housing on my 2011 3.0i Z4. I am the original owner and now have 40000 miles on the car. I have changed the air filter two times so far. I remove the air filter housing from the car, open it up and remove the replaceable air filter and see a second filter. This second air filter seems to be molded into the plastic housing. So the incoming air passes thru the first (replaceable air filter) and then thru the second filter.

Now, I have watched videos on line showing a person replacing the E89 air filter and I do not see this second filter. So what is the deal with this second air filter?
