I'm in the UK. I replaced my tyres with Goodyear asymmetric 2's non RFT.
I hit a pot hole which gashed the side wall about 4 inches, and the rear by 1 inch.
Pooring with rain, dark in the middle of the countryside, i said "Oh, Well" and drove home!
Half mile from home having travelled 9 miles the tyre came of the front rim.
The tyre sheared off leaving an inch of rubber around the rim, protecting it.
Suprisingly no damage to either rim, just fitted two new tyres.
Watching all those US programs about Police car chases gave me the confidence the car would get me home!
