Good idea, getting replacement front covers, sure that you can return if you're successful in not damaging them. They're really not clips, the silver rear covers have 8 posts each ending in a ball. These balls then line up with receptacles on the front black covers that have rubber inserts to receive the balls, they do snap together quite snuggly. I used a wide bladed screw driver in the seam to pry apart, which did minor damage to both front and rear covers.
Am including copy of instructions given to me by my dealer to give you a better idea. Beware that these instructions are not quite right, shows the front covers snapping onto rear covers, but they held in place inside with screws. Instructions also indicate that the clothing hook must be removed, not true.
Have fun.
