As far as tv franchises they produce, it pulls in the most money by far. It is watched by over 350 million viewers across the globe. The show rakes over £50m a year between the tv show, books, magazines, dvds, live shows, and merchandise. Top Gear isn't just a tv show, it is global brand.
If BBC thinks they can continue the show success without JC, then go for it. But fact is the show will die off without him.
