There is a long thread on the F80 M3/M4 forums right now, and the owner identified himself and gave an explanation

Apparently he had the electronics completely off (i.e. DSC OFF) and it was cold outside so the car got sideways when he hit the throttle (he thought he was rolling on the throttle and was surprised by what happened next....)

F80 M3/M4 weighs ~3400-3550lbs and makes 424hp and 426ftlb at the wheels (relative to claims of 424hp and 406ftlb at the crank) and the stock tires are 275 wide Michelin PSS which aren't super sticky, so they can be overwhelmed by the power
