The three-story home was designed by Michelle Kaufmann, who specializes in building innovative, green, prefab modular homes. The design of the Smart Home uses the latest in eco-friendly materials, energy-efficiency and includes a solar electricity-generation system as well as a rain capture system. The innovative design and materials combine to show how accessible green living and smart technology can be for all of us.

FLOR was excited to join the project because it reflects our environmental views of reducing waste, conserving energy and keeping homes free from harmful chemicals. FLOR cofounder and President, Greg Colando, was recently interviewed by the Chicago Sun Times to share the company’s position on sustainable and responsible design.
