The speedo is designed to be optimistic, like on all cars, by about 3%. And it gets worse as tires wear out.
Don't trust the GPS either. It measures average speed over a few seconds based on a location that's only accurate within +- 100 ft.
As for mpg, I can get 30 mpg easily at 70-75 mph on my '35i so you're in the range.
