Driving an SUV/Truck/Minivan on the Nürburgring isn't that crazy. Its HOW they are driven on the Nürburgring thats the crazy bit. You have to consider that the Nürburgring is technically a speed-limit-free one-way toll road in the German world. So any and all TüV-legal vehicles can go on the track. Like I said before, I've seen crazier things, like Class-A campers (in case you don't know your campers, those are the ones that look like tour buses). Hell, the Nürburgring themselves have tour buses that take people around the track as well. Check out the webcam of the gate and you will see all kinds of craziness.

So, as long as you are careful, you can drive an SUV around the track no problem. Its when you forget you're driving an SUV and start believing you're driving a Ferrari is where things like this happen.
