Does the butterfly valve control the bypass pipe? Why would a bypass pipe be necessary; I thought the whole muffler was closed at low RPMs?
For those who have replaced their tips only, please chime in on how you made it work. Having looked through various BMW threads prior to deciding on doing the switch, it appears that only the E89 has this "bypass pipe"
