I made the same decision. After driving many examples of 35i 's for sale from around all of New England, the dealer where I got my 09 35i from had a beautiful, white, manual, low mileage, 08 Cayman S in my price range sitting right next to the Z. After visually admiring both and driving both, the decision was made while re-test driving the DCT Z with the top down, even with the RFT tires, that are a harsher ride, the E89 was the hands down winner. I knew I was rarely, if ever, going to track any car and as already well stated, the lackluster Cayman interior and bone jarring ride made, plus the rare Z sighting made my decision even easier. I love the Z with the DCT in Sport +, high reving cracking exhaust with the top down rides to no where in particular. Just what I bought it for.
