DIY for broken hinges on trunk cover?

I know I'm probably labeling it wrong but I just don't know what you call this. You know that think you pull down in your trunk so you can put your convertible top down? It has a hard plastic covered with fabric and is attached to this metallic bar by two hinges.

Yeah that thing. haha Well one of my hinges broke a few days ago and desperate super gluing doesn't do the trick. (I had to try although it was a stupid idea). Went to the BMW of monrovia to see how much it would cost for a new hinge (I just needed one) but turns out BMW only sells the entire complete trunk liner set with hinges together only. They don't sell it separately. Costs about 300.

That is a lot more than i would like to spend on this obviously and was wondering if anyone else had one broken by accident as you were pulling down that cover so you could put down your top of the convertible. If you did, how did you fix it?

Just looking for any advice from someone who has experience in this. Thanks in advance.
