I just got mine installed from a local shop, but have not done this encoding. Also I do feel the pedal slightly mushier than before on my 35is.

I plan to to do the upgrade this week. Not sure if the coding can be done with a ECS Tuning Schwaben hand held scanner but I just bought one so I will know by the end of next week. Did you install front and rear? I am trying to figure out which rear rotor I need for the Z4...34206797600 or 34206797598.
