H&R Rear Sway Bar Link replacement

H&R Rear Sway Bar Link replacement

One of the problems with installing the H&R rear sway bar on an E89 is that the factory end links make it difficult if not impossible to adjust the bar to the stiffest position. Also at full wheel droop the bar almost touches the axle. To fix this problem I came up with the following solution. The key was finding an 8mm to 10mm threaded stud. I attached a 10mm tie rod end and an 8mm female rod end to the stud. I sealed the rod end with rubber seals, centered it with taper spacers and located on center with nylon washers. Check out results below. Very workable solution to the problem.

Parts List

Tie Rod End: NationSkander P/N SQ10RS-1 Bearing, 10mm Threads
Metric Step Stud: Bel-Metric P/N S8X10X38, 38mm Long, 10mm thread to 8mm Thread
Female Rod End: NationSkander P/N PHS8 8mm Hole and Threads
5/16” Bore Taper Washer Steinjäger P/N J0015460
5/16” Bore Rod End Seal: Had them in parts bin
5/16” Nylon Washers 1/16” Thk: Lowes
