I did something similar for Bluetooth streaming in my E46 but I used
this NFC enabled one. I mounted it behind the center console so it was out of sight but with the NFC if I ever need to pair a new phone with it I just have to hold the phone against the right spot on the side of the console and it'll automatically pair with it.
