#1 maybe they're gonna leave the M division for everything like the "black series" and the "IS" like the "plain AMG" series and then everything else
#2 maybe they don't want the Z4 being in a "better" position than the M3 because of heritage
#3 maybe they're just gonna nickel and dime everything (seriously, there's a handful of 3 series cars that come in over the M3's base price and the 550i GT surpasses the base 7 series)
#4 maybe BMW is being run by a bunch of schmucks or geniuses depending which side of the table you're on
#5 maybe the schedule of the new M's bumps heads with the issue of a Z4 M and 1 series M and so they're holding off until a refresh
