Brakes only have 2 sensor levels.
No open sensor , meaning new or mostly new pads.
An open sensor, meaning half way or something like that.
Maybe you got new pads at some point and the brake warning was not reset to tell the computer they are new pads. So it continues to calculate the pads should be due for replacement.
