in your case if the scratches are not deep and trim surface is smooth without any imperfections that would show through the wrap i think wrapping the trim is the cheapest way to go. Or buy new trim.

I have fineline anthracite wood trim and it has a lacquer coating that at least can be polished.
I tried that with my trim this summer.
Took all the trim pieces out except the trim on the doors as it was perfect.
Then used Meguiars SwirlX and ScratchX and alot of elbow grease to polish them.
Did end up getting most of the imperfections out and get them all shiny again.
Some deeper marks still remained but it does look alot better than before.


Probably will do it again next summer and use a more abrasive compound/polish on them as the products i used were quite mild. And using a small polishing tool instead of a foam applicator pad wouldnt hurt either.
