The VTT silicone inlet tubing is a 2" in diameter so more air volume and better air flow. Keeping the air box style for a CAI setup allows colder ambient air to reach the turbos instead of the engine bay temps you get with a DCI setup.
You want colder air pre turbos in order to reduce duty-cycle, and run the turbos at a better efficiency for more boost.
