I've owned 3 full size Range Rovers- 2006 RR HSE Supercharged, 2007 RR HSE, and 2009 RR HSE Supercharged. The 2006 was bought used, 2007 and 2009 both bought new. I probably will never go back to the brand again. Every manufacturer will have issues but the problem with Landrover is they don't have the capacity to figure out a solution. I had electrical issues..nothing mechanical.
I think if you are leasing it, you will be fine. Unfortunately I drive between 30-40K a year and the trip to the mountains every year.... This truck did great in the snow but the electrical problems were too much!
This is back when BMW owned RR. I can't imagine it being any better with Tata taking over.
